Are you a Friend, a Seeker, or a Disciple?

It’s true that we provide a variety of spiritual, social, and service opportunities for students in grades 6-8, but we need to acknowledge something:

We are all on our own unique faith journeys.

We know that each student is seeking meaning and purpose in his or her life. God reaches out to each of us in an intensely personal way to show his love and mercy.

Here at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Youth Ministry, we provide a wide variety of ministry opportunities so that God can work. Maybe he’s just planting seeds, or maybe he will speak to us through one another; either way, there are many ways for students to come to know Christ and his desire to be in relationship with us.

Maybe you’re a Friend.

Maybe you’re just getting started. Even if you don’t know what this whole “faith thing” is about, attending a few social events is a good way to start.

We offer fun social activities for students to begin to experience faith in a community context. Maybe you come for the pizza, or donuts, or fantastic nerf gun showdowns. Either way, we are happy you are here. But maybe you’re ready to go a little deeper.

Maybe you’re a Seeker.

Maybe you’re ready to continue your journey of faith. Even if you don’t know all the answers, you feel like it’s important, and you’re open to giving God a shot.

Every event focuses on a different aspect of our faith. It’s a chance for students to begin to dig deeper in their faith. Maybe you still come for the pizza, or donuts, or fantastic nerf gun showdowns… But maybe you’re ready to go even deeper: to seek a relationship with Christ.

Maybe you’re a Disciple.

By this point, it’s clear that your faith is an important point in your life. And even if you still don’t have all the answers, you know that this is something worth pursuing, and you’re committed to learning more and growing in your faith.

Our Youth Ministry is structured to draw every student closer to Christ, at a time when they’re ready. Pizza, donuts, and fantastic nerf gun showdowns are still a part of ministry… but this time it’s different. This time, the prayer and catechesis speak to you. And maybe by now, you’re ready to swim on your own: to dive deep in your relationship with Christ, without fear of sharing your faith. Family Events are the perfect place to start flexing those leadership muscles and helping with behind-the-scenes prep work.

When you get to High School, you’ll be ready to jump into Peer Ministry and really live out your call to faith.

But how do I walk that journey of faith?

First of all, this journey won’t happen by simply attending a youth event, two hours a week.  This journey is a lifestyle, a challenge to integrate faith into our friendships, schoolwork, and personal lives. But we can provide a few tips on how to get started. Check out our Roadmap to Youth Ministry and learn how you can grow deeper in your faith with the support of Youth Ministry and our Catholic faith.

No matter where you are, welcome.

Here are a few other resources to help you get started.

  • Friends: We meet twice a month on Tuesdays from 6-8pm (Search for specific upcoming events here).
  • Seekers: We have one yearly retreat each spring. It’s a good place to dive deeper into your faith. Learn more here.
  • Disciples: Ready for the challenge? Information on joining our Peer Ministry Team can be found here.
